Linfo.re also said that on Saturday 14 June there was “une nouvelle conversation” between Trump and Vladimir Poutine, as Trump displayed “une proximité accrue avec Moscou” and pushed Kiev to consider a quick compromise with Russia.

In Evian-les-Bains, France, Reuters reported that Trump told reporters “Look, Russia should make a deal,” after a “very good” meeting with Zelenskiy that sparked “cautious optimism” among G7 leaders.
Reuters said Zelenskiy told Reuters that G7 leaders agreed Russia was not winning the war, and that they discussed additional sanctions targeting Russia’s oil exports, its banking sector and its military production to bring Moscow to the negotiating table.
Debate over strategy and leverage
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz told reporters that he found Trump “very cooperative” and “listening very attentively,” and Reuters framed the reaction as giving him “a certain degree of optimism.”
Reuters also reported that Zelenskiy hoped to meet Trump again on Tuesday, saying “Our teams will be meeting over the course of the next 24 hours at various levels and will continue to meet.”
At the same summit, United24 Media said Trump declared “Russia has to make a deal” and that European leaders were working to prevent diplomatic friction after the announcement.
United24 Media added that during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, Trump vowed to use his “cleared diplomatic agenda” to settle the Russian invasion of Ukraine while noting that “approximately 25,000 people, mostly soldiers, are dying each month.”
Iran talks, Hormuz, and risks
Reuters reported that G7 working discussions included the safe reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran largely closed at the end of February, and leaders sought alternative routes to bypass the waterway that Trump said would be “completely open.”

The Economic Times said the June 15 to 17 gathering in Evian-les-Bains, on the shores of Lake Geneva, brought together leaders including France, Britain, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States, alongside the European Union.
The Economic Times quoted Macron saying the priority was to ensure there is a “solid, serious agreement that is finalised,” while also describing a 60-day window for technical negotiations covering the fate of Iran’s highly enriched uranium and sanctions lifting.
In a separate report, LiveNOW from FOX said Trump planned to discuss demining the Strait of Hormuz at the Group of Seven summit that starts Monday, and it cited an Associated Press report that it wasn’t clear how many mines are in the Strait of Hormuz that Iran has controlled since after the Iran war started.
