Gemini Spark Launches
Google’s agentic AI tool Gemini Spark is now available in the US for Google AI Ultra subscribers, with PCMag saying it is “currently only available to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US.”
“As previewed last week, Gemini Spark is now available in the US for Google AI Ultra subscribers”
PCMag reports Gemini Spark is described by Google as a “24/7 personal agent” that can work on tasks in the background on Google Cloud even if a computer or phone is turned off.

Thurrott says Gemini Spark is available in beta for Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US and that it runs in the background while having access to users’ personal information to suggest tasks.
9to5Google adds that on the web a new “Spark” tab appears opposite “Chat,” and on Android and iOS Spark appears between Search chats and Daily brief with Google noting the “Beta” status.
PCMag also says Gemini Spark runs on Google’s Gemini Flash 3.5 model and is built on Google’s Antigravity platform.
How It Works
Thurrott says Google explained that Gemini Spark is “deeply integrated with the Workspace tools you rely on daily, like Gmail, Docs, Slides and more,” and that because it is cloud-based it keeps working even when a user closes a laptop or locks a phone.
9to5Google describes how Gemini Spark taps into Google Workspace and other Connected Apps, Personal Intelligence, websites users are signed into, and location, including a “Remote browser with automatically saved info” and a “Remote computer with code execution data.”

9to5Google says Spark can manage a calendar by checking a calendar, RSVP to invitations, and schedule new events, and it can also draft and reply to email threads in Gmail.
It further explains that Gemini Spark’s three core components are a Task, a Schedule, and a Skill, with a Skill defined as a “set of reusable instructions and additional context.”
9to5Google reports usage limits, saying users can have up to 15 tasks running at a given time and that a schedule will not run if there are already 15 tasks running.
Access, Integrations, and Limits
PCMag says Gemini Spark’s US availability is tied to Google AI Ultra subscribers, and it adds that subscribers need to spend at least $100 per month to access it.
“Gemini Spark is Google’s new 24/7 agentic assistant, designed to help you help you “navigate your digital life,” which essentially means getting your online to-dos done, summarizing the things you don’t have time to read (like the entirety of your inbox), or organizing something that would have otherwise involved too much screen time-filled manual labor, like a personal expenses spreadsheet”
PCMag reports that Gemini Spark’s release includes connections to Canva, OpenTable, and Instacart, and it says brands like Adobe, Uber, Spotify and Booking.com are included in an infographic of upcoming partners.
Thurrott says Google also plans to add new abilities, including “texting and emailing Spark, creating custom sub-agents and operating your local browser,” and it says Spark will always ask users for confirmation before performing sensitive actions.
TechCrunch reports CEO Sundar Pichai joked at Google’s annual developer conference that Spark, which runs on virtual machines in the cloud, means that “yes, you can close your laptop.”
PCMag notes Spark’s background operation comes with perks like up to 20TB of cloud storage and access to Google Antigravity, while also saying it plans to progressively add new capabilities.
